On Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014, the wrestling team traveled to Fallston High School to take on the Cougars.

The match started off with a Cougar win, followed by a Bobcat win coming from Senior Captain Cameron Watts when he pinned his opponent at 4:45 mark in his match. The Cougars then took revenge on the Bobcats by adding three team points to the score board, making the score 9-6 with the Cougars leading. The next six Bobcat matches resulted in wins, two coming from forfeits. Freshman Joe Cirillo, Sophomores Tom Gomez and Sam Queen, and Junior Dakota Crawford all pinned their opponents in the first period of their matches. Freshman Zach Alascio and Sophomore Scott Miser also added a total of 12 points to the team score off forfeits to make the team score 42-9.

“We wrestled with a lot of heart and compassion and it was a solid team win,” stated Sophomore Tom Gomez.

Following the six win streak, Senior Captain David Reagan kept the streak going to add three points to the team score. The Cougars then added six points to their score after the Regan match. The Bobcats won the next two, adding a total of seven points to the team score with wins coming from Seniors Dalton Foster and Brady Stafford. The Cougars then won the very last match of the meet to make the final score 52-18 with the Bobcats achieving the win.

“We came out as a team and we did what we had to do: wrestle our hearts out,” stated Junior Dakota Crawford. “We had a couple close matches, but overall that’s what makes us better.”

The Bobcats move to 2-0 on the season, not including the Aberdeen Duals, and will be back in action on Wednesday, Dec. 17, to face the Eagles of Aberdeen in their first home dual meet of the season at 5:30 p.m. in the gym.
