On Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014, the Field Hockey team traveled to Fallston High School to take on the Cougars ending in a 1-0 overtime loss.

The Cougars took possession first to start the game but the ‘Cats controlled the ball in the Cougar’s offensive zone for most of the first half. The strong Cougar defense did not allow the ‘Cats to score a single point. The Bobcat defense came up with some huge stops to return the favor of not allowing the Cougars to score to keep the game at 0-0 in the first half.

Coming into the second half, again the Bobcats dominated the possession of the ball and were not able to squeeze one pass the goalie. The time quickly decreased as both teams fought back and forth to get into the opposing team’s offensive zone. The consistent Bobcat defense came up with a bunch of turnovers to help start the transition but the Cougars would force a turnover to bring it back down the field. The last couple seconds ticked on the clock and as the horn blew, the teams knew they were going into overtime.

The Cougars came out with possession but the Bobcats caused a turnover and get the ball into the Cougar offensive zone but they were unable to tap the ball into the goal. The Cougar defense started a fast break opportunity and the offense came down and caused a corner. The Bobcat defense would come up with a huge stop, but the Cougars would get a turnover and make a three verses one with the goalkeeper opportunity. Unfortunately the Cougars would maneuver the ball around the goalkeeper to take the win with a 1-0 victory over the Bobcats.

“It was a hard fought game but it was just not meant to be our victory,” stated Captain Morgan Domanico. “We have opportunity after opportunity but we just could not capitalize.” Domanico would also come up in the cage for the ‘Cats tallying seven saves.

The Bobcats move to 7-3 on the season and will play their last regular season game on Tuesday, Oct. 14, where they will honor the 12 graduating Seniors against the visiting North Harford Hawks at 6:45 p.m.
