Bel Air Girls’ Varsity Volleyball team stays undefeated in their division, now holding a record of 5-0. This week they took on the North Harford Hawks and Chesapeake Cougars. With two more wins, the Lady Bobcats were ready to take on the Elkton Elks on Monday, Sept. 22, at Elkton.

On Monday, Sept. 15, the Bobcats took on North Harford in a home game and won the match in 3 sets. With our key offensive player Taylor White, and alongside her, Kaitlyn Cassaday, each had over 10 kills and 5 digs each. Defensively, Nicole Lippert and Briana Karayinopulous had some great saves and digs to help contribute to the game. Setters Anna Wojciechowski and Julie Bernoski each assisted over 10 sets.

“Winning at home is such a good feeling. Being on your home court really does help. I think we were so victorious because we truly played as a team, which is important to win. We win and lose as a team,” said Libero Briana Karayinopulous.

On Wednesday, Sept. 17, the Lady Bobcats traveled to Anne Arundel County and defeated the Chesapeake Cougars in 4 sets to claim the match win. Key players were Mariah Thomas, Taylor White, Kaitlyn Cassaday, Kirsten Johnson, and Leah Lozzi. Low serving errors contributed greatly to this win.

“I was really happy that we won. Over an hour bus rides can sometimes slow us down, but we came out and started strong. That is something we need to keep up. Earning a win feels good and I can’t wait for more this season,” said Opposite Hitter Kirsten Johnson.

The Bel Air Girls’ Varsity Volleyball team has their next home come on Wednesday, Sept. 24, against the Harford Tech Cobras.
