Bel Air’s Christmas Parade Brings the Spirit

On Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016, the annual Bel Air Christmas Parade took place in the Town of Bel Air.

This parade has been occurring annually for almost a decade, and continues to bring families from all around Harford County into the Christmas Spirit!

Out of the 82 groups marching in the parade, some of the highlights were: The TwirlTasTix, the Hoppin’ Hawks Jump Rope Team, the Marine Corps League, Miss Maryland, Miss Bel Air, and our very own Bel Air High School Marching Band.

Following the parade, Bel Air Marching Band Member, senior Aiden Jenkins says, “Marching in the Christmas Parade is something that I always look forward to every year, and it’s sad that this is the last year I’ll be a part of it.”

As always, the parade ended with Santa and Mrs. Claus in their carriage. Their appearance is the most anticipated out of the entire parade.

“The theme of the Bel Air Christmas Parade is to welcome the Christmas Spirit into the town. You can define the Christmas Spirit in any way you’d like, but all we ask is that everyone celebrate the holiday spirit, what is good about the holiday spirit, and what is happy, enthusiastic and welcoming about the holiday spirit,” says Parade Director Mike Blum.

The Bel Air Christmas Parade was a success, and we hope to see all of you there again next year!
