Homecoming 2015: The Face behind the Mask

Bel Air High school’s Annual Homecoming was Oct. 3, 2015. After an incredible spirit week, a rained out pep rally, and one-thousand tickets sold, Bobcats were ready for the dance. Amidst the hurricane, Saturday was filled with corsages, up-dos, and plenty of photos.

Students arrived at the school around 7 P.M., ready to break out their dance moves.  The dance floor was soon filled with excited Bobcats dancing their hearts out. Students flowed from the cafeteria to the dance floor, switching from socializing to dancing.

“Homecoming this year was lit, literally!” says Bryce Rasnake, senior, addressing the lights staying on in the gymnasium throughout the evening.

However, not all students were pleased with this year’s homecoming dance. The music was said to be sub-par, and very few were alright with the lights staying on in the gym. The theme of the homecoming, “Once Upon A Masquerade” also got mixed reviews. Some saw it as a happy medium, while others weren’t happy with the theme at all. Student felt the administration served as an uncomfortable fly on the wall, watching like a hawk.

“The music was okay, but the lights being on made it a bad experience for me because it didn’t really feel like the senior homecoming I was envisioning,” said Shelby Fallon, a senior at Bel Air High School.

Overall the dance was a success and the students and staff entered and exit the dance safely and happy. Until next year, Bobcats!
