This Friday, April 24, Bel Air High School will host the Harford and Baltimore County Best Buddies Talent Show.

Best Buddies is an organization that matches students with an intellectual or developmental disability with another student at their school to form one-on-one friendships that promote inclusion and develop social skills.

The talent show will showcase Best Buddy chapters from many surrounding schools showing their special abilities. Bel Air High Schools own Breanna Starr and Michael Skevofilax will both be performing songs. Skevofilax is singing “I’ll Make a Man Out of You” from the Mulan soundtrack. Starr will sing “Blank Space” by Taylor Swift with her buddy Brittany Bergquist.

The entire Bel Air chapter will close the talent show with a group dance to several songs.

Bel Air Best Buddies Chapter President, Samantha Sullivan, is ready for the show, exclaiming that, “the talent show is going to be so much fun. It’s a great way for the students to be able to showcase their abilities. We are excited to be able to perform with other Best Buddies chapters from Harford and Baltimore County!”

Tickets will be sold at the door. Tickets are $5 for adults, and $3 for children. There will also be raffle baskets, concessions, and Best Buddies Maryland merchandise available for purchase on the night of the event.

All money made during the event will be split up and given to a high school Best Buddies chapter in Harford and Baltimore County that participated. This way, they can further include Best Buddies in their schools and their community.

The show will start at 7 p.m. here at Bel Air in the auditorium. Come out and support your fellow Bobcats on their special night!
