On Wednesday Feb. 4, 2015, Future Business Leaders of America held its annual Region 3 competition at North Harford High School.

Bel Air High School had 29 students compete in the Region 3 competition, and out of those 29, 17 are eligible to compete at state level, and they are all eligible to attend the MD State Leadership Conference in April. First place wins were secured by Jason Dinsmore (Accounting II), Nicole Warder (Insurance and Risk Management), Carly Hindle (Intro to Business Communications), Matt Siebold (Securities and Investments), and Durrant Carlson (Job Interviewing).

Rounding out the states eligible students is Renie Tsomos, who secured a fourth place win in the category of Business Communication.

“I expect the students to do really well at states,” said Ms. Campbell, the FBLA advisor. “There’s going to be intense competition from the various FBLA chapters, and even though they only announce the first and second place winners, I’m confident that our students will do great.”

Other honorable mentions go to the teams of Cheyenne Burchette and Victoria Russomano (Management Decision-Making), Douglas Naumann and Nicholas Balzano (Public Service Announcement: “Teens Recycle”); Emily McQuay, Annie Zaborowski, Adam Ahtchi Ali (Accounting I), Zach Memmo and Carter Hofmann (Accounting II), Kevin Wise and Alex Mace (Economics), Lauren Tolley and Kenny Meyer (Intro to Business), and Kaitlin Cassady (Personal Finance).
