Welcome Bobcat Class of 2015

On Friday, August 26, 2011 Bel Air High school held its annual Freshman Day.  The class of 2015, and their parent, made their way into the school and were greeted by a host activities.  This is the 7th year of Freshman Day, and according to event co-sponsor Ms. Jones, the goal is to “help ease the anxiety for the first day of school, whether it is for getting your locker or finding your new classes.”  That sentiment was echoed by the freshmen in hall of BAHS, as most them looked forward to finding both their lockers and their classes.  Freshman Eliajah Olsen spoke for most of his classmates when he said, “it is important to find where your classes are, because this is a big school.”  Eliajah added that he is most looking forward to seeing his friends again on the first day of school.

According to Ms. Jones, “another goal of Freshman Day is to try to get students involved in some of the activities in the school.”  With that being said, 18 groups and clubs lined the main hallway for the freshman with current students available to answer any questions.  Not only were the clubs here for the freshmen, but they also had the opportunity to buy Spirit Wear in the bookstore, to purchase a gym uniform from the physical education teachers and have their parent’s Edline accounts activated.

Hopefully, as the freshmen left Bel Air High School today their anxiety level has been lowered a little and they are ready to make a smooth transition into the Bobcat Nation.
