The Art was created by local artist such as Joanna Barnum, Robert Vail, Jo Houtz, Nancy Lloyd, Alexandra Kopp, Charles (Tom) Spencer, Susan Wilhoit, Sylvia Hutt, and Rosemary Hertsch.

The association will be hosting an opening reception for the “Illumination” gallery on Nov. 14 from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M., and an open house on Dec. 5 and Dec. 6 from 12:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. The Harford Artists’ Gallery is open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.

“Art is always uplifting to the human spirit and people always want to see it, use it, or wear it. The gift sale gives everyone an opportunity to shop, and uplift other people’s’ spirits as well as their own,” said Lin McLean, a member of The Harford of Artist Association.

The Harford Artist Association was organized in 1967 with the goal of promoting art in the Harford community. In 1970, the Association was turned into a non-profit corporation, supported by the Maryland State Art Council and the Harford Art Board.

“Our Association’s goal is to promote and encourage appreciation for the visual arts in Harford County. Knowing about art helps make us well-rounded individuals. We find that either making art or going to a gallery to view art helps relieve stress; we can escape into the artwork around us. The association and its gallery are important for the community aspect; where else would you meet and connect with art-minded people?” stated McLean.

The “Illumination” exhibit and sale allows residents to buy unique gifts for their friends and family members which can be used to decorate their homes or to wear throughout the year. Come help to promote lesser known local artist hard work.
